Why does your skin need vitamins?
Skin aging is a chronic condition that needs daily treatment and prevention. This is achieved by protecting and nourishing the skin with essential vitamins, as well as other nutrients, antioxidants and, of course, SPF. Environ’s vitamin-rich formulas use a multi-pronged approach to help nourish, protect and maintain a healthy-looking skin with Vitamins A, C, E, antioxidants and peptides.
Sun exposure is the number one cause of skin aging. In addition to wearing SPF, it’s essential to replace the skin-defending vitamins that are damaged by sunlight.
Vitamin A molecules in the skin are continuously depleted by light and air each day. The daily replenishment of Vitamin A, and other essential nutrients like antioxidants and peptides, is vital for skin to look healthy and radiant for life. AVOIDING RETINOID REACTIONS
A retinoid reaction occurs when too much Vitamin A is introduced into the skin at once. Potential reactions include flaking, redness, inflammation and mild breakouts. Each person will react to Vitamin A differently depending on their tolerance as well as the number of Vitamin A receptors their cells have. Retinoid receptors are developed by exposure to Vitamin A, so skin may need to build more receptors in order to accept Vitamin A into the skin without an adverse reaction. If you’re new to using Vitamin A, start on number 1 of your chosen moisturizer or serum. Number 1 contains the lowest concentration of Vitamin A. Experienced users may start on number 2 or 3. After finishing a bottle of each number, skin will be comfortable with this level of Vitamin A and will be ready to STEP-UP to the next number.
If your skin is particularly sensitive, remain on your current level until your skin is comfortable enough to progress to the next level. Always consult your skin care professional.
